ColorBurst Wins Two Categories of DIMA 2004 Digital Printer Shoot-Out
The ColorBurst RIP Makes the Best Fine Art and Flatbed Prints at PMA

Sterling, Virginia -- February 20, 2004 -- ColorBurst Systems announced today that the ColorBurst RIP produced winning prints in two categories of the 2004 DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out at this year's PMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ColorBurst won the Inkjet Flatbed category for the second consecutive year with a print produced on the VUTEk Press Vu UV 180/600 EC. ColorBurst is the OEM RIP for VUTEk printers -- every VUTEk printer is shipped with a license of the ColorBurst RIP. ColorBurst and VUTEk have been a winning team at DIMA for three years, winning the DIMA Shoot-Out on the VUTEk 3360 (solvent inks) in 2002.

ColorBurst also won this year in the Creative Application Paper category with ColorBurst X-Proof, a Mac OS X native RIP. The winning print was made on an Epson 9600 using Epson UltraChrome inks and Epson Velvet Fine Art paper. “We are thrilled to win in the Creative Application category” said Larry Spevak, President of ColorBurst Systems. “Our Mac products are geared towards creative printing, such as photography and fine art. This award shows we've achieved the best color and quality for fine art prints.”

Entries in the DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out were produced from target files created by Photomation Commercial Imaging & Graphics, Anaheim, California. A panel of judges conducted blind voting based on print quality and color accuracy (compared to a target print).
